After many years of attempting to have Parks Canada move forward with preparing and opening up to the public the balance of the DND Lands on the Lakeshore, there has been little progress made. Parks Canada since 2010 have said they are interested in moving forward, but continue to kick the can down the road. In 2023 both the Niagara Region and the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake have expressed interest to work with Parks Canada to move forward in this regard, and Parks Canada stated they would be interested as well. The question is when? Nothing has happened since then and there does not appear to be any interest by Parks Canada to do anything at all. For that reason, the Harmony Residents Group has decided to put a hold on active participation in pushing this item for the time being. The Board Members listed below will continue to informally meet on a regular basis, maintain the website and membership records, and remain ready to become highly active again when needed.
